Paper and Ink is a blog.

It hopes to achieve three major things:

  1. Provide entertaining book and graphic novel reviews.
  2. Be pretty.
  3. Help aspiring writers like myself find inspiration to fuel the creative fire.

A little about me: My name is Meghan, I’m 26, married and I work at a comic book store. I’ve been writing since before I knew how to spell most words and drawing since I gained the dexterity required to hold a crayon. The type of books I read are typically YA. I enjoy paranormal, romance, dystopian future and mystery/crime stories, so that will make up the bulk of my reviews. I’m also an avid reader of comic books and because I work in a store, it’s easy for me to get my hands on pretty much anything. When reviewing comic books, my aim is to provide a feminine perspective on a what’s been a male dominated interest (not necessarily the case anymore, as it seems like more and more girls are getting into comics). And since like many readers I’m also a writer, I’m going to offer up writing inspiration and links to helpful writers tools.

This is my blog but I love to hear what other people think, so if you’ve read a book I’ve reviewed and want to toss in your two cents or get a conversation started, please do! I’d love to be able to participate in discussions and have this be a place where it’s not just all about what I think. Also, if you have any suggestions for what I should review or themes for picture inspirations, drop a line.

In addition to here, I can also be found at:  http://apricotteacup.deviantart.com/ where I post art and short fiction.

Words – so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them.  ~Nathaniel Hawthorne
